Welcome

Welcome  to the annual Coubertin Olympic Awards student essay competition, now in its third and final year, organised by the International Pierre de Coubertin Committee (CIPC) in partnership with the Institute of Business Ethics (IBE). Find out more.

The competition’s overarching aim is to promote the application of the Olympic ideals to the world of business, including the business of sport itself.

In keeping with the ideals of fairness, excellence, participation and peace that drove Pierre de Coubertin, in the early 20th century, to revive the Olympic movement which was born in ancient Greece we invite students to examine how ethics, business and sport can interact in the 21st century.

Student teams of 2 to 4 people are encouraged to enter from any UK based university or business school. The competition will run for each of the next three academic years finishing before the 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games.  For ideas of the kinds of topics/themes that you may wish to explore, see the Suggested Themes Section of the website HERE

The deadline for essay submissions for the 2012  competition is 30 March 2012.

For further information of how to enter please see the webpages listed under the "The Competition" link at the top of the page.

The prizes are £2,000 for the winners and £1,000 for the runners-up.
